Protege DIN Rail 8 input and 4 output expander

The Protege DIN Rail 8 Input 4 Output Expander enhances the Protege system by significantly expanding its input and output capabilities. This module increases the number of monitored inputs by eight, accommodating a diverse range of EOL-capable or open contact sensors. Additionally, it adds four high-current Form C relay outputs, ideal for controlling building systems such as lighting and HVAC.

Equipped with advanced hardware features, the expander allows for flexible input programming and configuration, enabling precise control and monitoring. It supports any combination of normally closed or open inputs with a four-state alarm system for short, alarm, closed, and tamper conditions. The outputs, featuring Form C relays, can handle resistive loads up to 7 amps.

The expander is powered by a high-performance 32-bit processor and utilizes analog-to-digital processing with 5x oversampling for accurate data handling. It supports secure, encrypted RS-485 communications and allows for online and remote firmware upgrades. Designed for industry-standard DIN rail mounting, this module integrates seamlessly into existing systems, offering robust and intelligent control for building automation and security.
