The Protege Ethernet 2 Reader Expander enhances the Protege system by providing robust integration for up to four reader inputs and two locking device outputs, facilitating advanced access control, security, and building automation. This high-tech expander leverages Ethernet communication to seamlessly integrate with both the Protege system and connected RS-485 devices.

With capabilities to connect two independent readers or up to four readers for dual entry and exit configurations, the expander offers flexible access control solutions. It includes features for controlling up to three outputs per reader input—such as LEDs and buzzer controls—via predefined configurations. The device also supports intelligent reader tamper detection and provides real-time data validation with clear indicators. Its power supply is protected by an auto-reset fuse, ensuring reliable operation and clear power availability status.
